FROM CUT BLOCK
TO CREATIVE CAMPUS
in 2016 we bought a 186 acre former logging camp along the tahsis inlet.
Since then we have worked hard to recycle the logging debris, do soil remediation and repair the dilapidated buildings. We have planted and grown enough food that nearly 50% of what we eat now comes from our farm: Tahsis Farm.
In 2018 we founded Art Tahsis as an experimental creative campus. We house and feed culture producers, show critical contemporary art of all types and explore together the most challenging questions of our time.
So far we have hosted a mix of artists, creatives, academics, programmers, builders, farmers and conservationists.
But now it is time for us to grow.
We want to build the most remote contemporary gallery in b.c.
25 minutes from tofino
45 minutes from vancouver
5 hours from l.a.
From the dock you will walk through our sculpture park in the coastal rainforest and up to your private ocean-view cabin by the gallery.
In 2020 we hope to install a 20,000 watt solar farm. The first phase of this plan will be linked to the grid, off-setting our hydro bill. Phase 2 will require a battery bank to move completely off-grid.
Increased food security.
for us, and tahsis.
We would like to expand our farm, allowing for increased farmer's market and farm-gate sales of our eggs and produce. This will help us reach farm-status, and provide a much needed local food source for Tahsis.
